Dear Mr.President,
We find the Decree of 2nd September 2010 No. 14-36-p unacceptable. According to it, the most valuable coastal areas in the would-be nature reserve will be set aside for the construction of a sport-and-recreation center under the aispices of the Department for Presidential Affairs.
The unique internationally importnat relict ecosystems that Russia is obliged to protect pursuant to The Convention on Conservation of Biological Diversity will be ruined We implore you to reconsider the Bill and establish a true nature reserve.

BOLSHOI UTRISH, Krasnodar Region — Construction in a pristine reserve on the Black Sea has come to an uneasy halt after picketing environmentalists forced police to intervene, but the firm doing the work says it can restart any time, even after federal authorities ordered a criminal investigation.

The logging in the Bolshoi Utrish nature reserve came to light last month, sparking protests and a petition drive to halt work on an access road that environmentalists say will open the coast for development of an elite resort.
